Where roads offer a bumpy ride
Where Laburnums bloom on the sides
Where the night guard whistles and
calls out your name
Where the mornings and the nights-
all are the same
Where animals trudge in the middle of
the road
Where each man carries other’s load
Where the Qutub Minar stands, tall
and grand
Where baraats dance on the roads to the blares of a band
Where the flea
markets bustle with activities
Where you can savor
Dosas, Bhelpuris, Burgers and Littis
Where vendors in your
ears cry
Where a splash of
colors greet the eye
Where it rains cats
and dogs
Where winters are
marked by dense fog
Where summers mean
ice- creams at night
Where the many
gardens make for a wonderful sight
Where the heavy
traffic has always been a problem
Where there are a
thousand ways to beat boredom
Where at every nook
and corner, there’s a story to be told
That's Delhi, my friend, a sight to behold!
