Chase Your Dreams

Hi everyone! I'm back after a longer than intended break! So, here's a poem on chasing dreams as the title says. . . 

Into the lake and up the peaks

Inside the cervices and the creaks

On a horseback or atop a cart

Chase your dreams from the start

Up a rainbow, down a cave

On the velvety path you pave

Across the world and through a patch

Chase your dreams till you catch

Down the sea and up the plain

Midst the joy and the pain

On a star, go on with zest

Chase your dreams and do not rest

On the bumpy track, a dusty lane

Through the wide doors or window pane

Down a straight way or round a bend

Chase your dreams till the end

A Cloud of Dust

A cloud of dust from the surface rose

I watch it as a- dancin’ it goes

Reaching higher, higher and high

Spiraling up towards the sky

From between the trees it makes its way

With the leaves, it seems to play

The scene beyond gets engulfed in haze

With curious eyes I gaze and gaze

It goes up, it swirls and twirls

Higher still then it whirls

And then it vanishes out of my sight

Teaching me to reach great heights!

The Secret Within

The lonely rose at the river bank

Swayed with the gentle breeze

Blooming on a thorny shank

Seemingly laughing at ease.

Thousands of secrets locked in its heart

Of people looking for a reason to smile

Of lovers who meet and part

Of travelers who have walked many a mile.

Of children looking at it in awe

Of poets trying to look for words

Of kids on the bank that it saw

Of hundreds of chirping little birds.

It seemed to say to the passers- by

"Just wait for a moment and spare a glance,

I give you a lesson before I die,

I smiled amidst the thorns when it was my chance.

I kept the secrets locked within

Now I am dying, my head I bow

I enjoyed the lights bright and dim

And I think, it’s your turn now."
